I took four years of German at FUHS. Here's a shout-out to Herr McIntosh and Frau Sanchez.

Too big to be a garden gnome, I posed in various places on the campus holding the book! Welcome to my book blog.

FUHS in 1913? Really? Alumnus Jon Neal colorized a scanned panoramic photo found in the archives. The photo is mounted on the wall in the FUHS library.

The legend of the cow in the clock tower is retold in Chapter Three. Anyone who wants to confess to the crime may do so now. All is forgiven--and the statute of limitations has run out by now.

Alumni Connections: Mike Johnson, Class of 1958, talks with two graduates of the Class of 2001 who had stopped by to reminisce about their FUHS years. Mike purchased a book to mail to Gunnar Serck-Hanssen from Norway, FUHS' first AFS exchange student. Gunnar came back for a visit to FUHS in 2006.

One of those in attendance at the book signing event was Pat Vierra Zima, Class of 1953. A few years ago, she called my attention to the need to do something to preserve the school's newspapers. That led to the digitization of the newspapers and the creation of a searchable database.

The FUHS Library is the repository of the school's history. Current Teacher Librarian Marie Slim and Library Technician Erin Black hosted a book signing event in the library during the last week of school, 2011. Library Buds, left to right: Marie, Erin, and Diane Thanks, you guys!

One of those in attendance was Stephanie Miles (left, above), a member of Indian Ink, a student-staff reading club.
